Vientaine it nice (we mean aint it nice)

Vientiane is the capital, all be it a tiny one, of Laos. The centre still feels very French and colonial with an Arc de Triomphe style monument on the main boulevard through it.

We hired a motorbike and drive out to Buddha Park , a very strange collection of Buddhist and Hindu statues 25km out of the city. One of the most surreal things we have seen. We started getting arty with black and white shots.

Sat at a riverside bar on the Mekong with a Beer Laos in hand is a good way to enjoy the sunsets on offer. Ed tried some weird dried squid thing as a beer snack but the look on his face says it all. The taste lingered for hours afterwards.
